Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating)

Job Description

Size of Job:

Job Purpose and Scope: Operate as part of a team of engineers and designers in carrying out feed/proposal/detailed engineering works. Provide necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets and within budgeted man-hours, project schedules, and ensuring quality.

Job Dimensions:

  • Decisions limited to the technical scope of the project and specifications, consults with Lead Engineer/Supervisor on technical issues.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution of assigned work within his discipline, meeting contractual obligations and client needs on time and within budget.
  • Ensure effective and timely communications, reporting, and sharing important information with the Head of the Department, Lead Engineer, and other Engineers.
  • Advise Project Manager and Head of the Department/Lead Engineer when requested work is considered outside of personal capability or project schedule.
  • Adhere to Company Quality Management System, HSE requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement the latest International and National Standards, Codes of Practice, and requirements of good engineering practice for all work performed.
  • Be fully aware of technical aspects of designs, Scope of Work, budget, and schedule for assigned projects.
  • Ensure adherence to Scope of Work and Design Basis Memorandum; identify variations and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables for the assigned project/proposal, including drawings, specifications, construction scope of work, calculations, data sheets, and material requisitions.
  • Perform checks of documents and drawings, reviewing interfaces and coordinating with other disciplines.
  • Maintain a record of important communications for reference.
  • Participate in meetings with the Lead Engineer, Client, and third parties to communicate and clarify various aspects.
  • Schedule work for the project in consultation with the Senior Mechanical Engineer.
  • Participate in quality audits and ensure proper implementation of the electronic data management system.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department/Lead Engineer/Senior Engineer.

Job Specification:

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical/Production Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of experience, preferably from a background in consultancy organizations in the EPC of the Oil and Gas Industry or Petrochemical industry and/or equipment manufacturers.
  • Adequate knowledge of various Codes (ASME, ASHRAE, API, EN, IS, DIN, JIS, etc.) and various local regulations.

Minimum Working Experience:

  • Overall: [6] yrs.
  • Similar Position: [8] yrs.

Other Hard Skill Requirements (Technical and Education):

  • Worked on at least two EPC projects and have good knowledge of compressors, pumps, turbines, and packages.
