Size of Job:

Job Purpose and Scope:

  • Assist lead engineer in conducting engineering process work.
  • Develop work packs for FEED and detail engineering.

Job Dimensions:

  • Develop heat and material balance, process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and supplemental diagrams for process systems under the supervision of a Lead Engineer.
  • Perform design engineering and analysis for less complex units under general supervision of a Lead Engineer.
  • Utilize computer-based technology for process simulation and equipment design.
  • Develop process conceptual studies, perform process calculations, and prepare study reports.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand the basic discipline work processes.
  • Perform engineering tasks within the discipline.
  • Assist lead process engineers in project assignments.
  • Perform routine aspects of process engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles.
  • Develop heat and material balance, process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment sizing, hydraulics line sizing, and supplemental diagrams for process systems.
  • Utilize computer-based technology for process simulation and equipment design under the supervision of a Lead Engineer.
  • Assist lead engineer in conducting preliminary feasibility, conceptual, optimization, or environmental studies.
  • Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data from suppliers.
  • Perform Process modeling and simulation using software programs such as Hysys, PRO/II, PROMAX, Flarenet, Flaresim, UNISIM.
  • Awareness of Industry Codes and Standards, including API 520, 521, 526, 527, 2000.
  • Participate in Safety, environmental, and operability reviews (HAZOP, ENVID, SIL).
  • Perform Relief system design, including PSV sizing, flare hydraulics, and radiation analysis.
  • Provide input to Cause and Effects.
  • Familiarity with PIPESIM for hydraulic analysis.
  • Experience in thermal design and rating of heat exchangers using HTRI/HTFS.
  • Experience in transient analysis using OLGA.
  • Familiarity with Glycol based Gas Dehydration Unit and/or Cryogenic Storage/refrigeration.

Job Specification:

Qualification:

  • Four-years Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical engineering or oil & gas, safety engineering, or fire engineering.

Minimum Working Experience:

  • Overall: [10] yrs.
  • Oil & Gas (Upstream): [7] yrs.
  • Middle East: [3-5] yrs.
  • Similar Position: [7] yrs.

Other Hard Skill Requirements (Technical and Education):

  • Ability to troubleshoot and use all available resources to solve problems/tasks.
  • High level of IT literacy & Computer programming capability is essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other discipline application software like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mathcad, HYSYS, etc.
  • Proficiency in Technical Report Writing.
