Job Description
HVAC designers will work with engineers and be responsible for designing HVAC, and plumbing
systems for industrial applications, performing temperature / humidity control / utility load
calculations, developing Airflow Diagrams, Ventilation & Instrumentation Diagrams, as well as
ductwork and piping plans, and developing building management system (BMS) control
philosophy, details, Sequence of Operations. Engineer should be knowledgeable in the
application of industry standard codes.
Responsibilities
Performing heating and cooling load calculations, heat transfer, pressure calculations,
and equipment selections as related to building engineered systems
Developing system options and making recommendations for improvement
System’s evaluations, analysis and reporting, including energy analysis and life cycle
cost analysis
Providing HVAC design support for engineering studies and analysis, equipment
sizing/selection, code review, field investigations, and various other tasks related to the
design of HVAC systems
Coordinating design elements with other design disciplines and Architecture
Proficiency using design software such as: AutoCAD, Microstation, SmartPlan, BIM/3D
software, etc
Requirements
Qualified candidates should be BSME, or equivalent
Minimum of 7 years of HVAC duct layout and routing, HVAC supports and HVAC
equipment layout
Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models
Experience in the review of project deliverables and drawing requirements
Experience in the review of vendor drawings and interface points
Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the plant
design process.
