SIZE OF JOB
JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
- Develop piping design and engineering packages throughout different phases of projects.
- Assist in supervising and coordinating the piping workload in the department.
JOB DIMENSIONS:
- Key role in developing piping engineering deliverables.
- Participate in multidiscipline engineering tasks.
- Provide guidance to piping engineers and designers.
- Perform work with minimum supervision.
- Assist in planning and managing piping engineering workload.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide guidance to a team of engineers and designers in carrying out piping engineering work.
- Assume responsibility for conceptual and detailed design (Concept, FEED, Detailed Engineering Material Specification, Stress Analysis, Layout Engineering, etc.).
- Provide necessary technical information for procurement in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets and work within budgeted man-hours and project schedules.
- Execute work in compliance with the project requirements and the Company’s quality system.
- Review documents, including but not limited to calculations, reports, studies, specifications, datasheets, and drawings, and consolidation of comments.
- Develop and review drawings, including but not limited to plot plans, general arrangements, isometrics, support layouts, road crossings, utilities design, etc.
- Develop and review piping material specifications.
- Assist in monitoring project man-hours during execution; identify variations between contract and proposal, propose corrective actions, develop manpower charts for task assignments, establish target completion dates, and recommend cost-effective designs.
- Assist in monitoring productivity of engineers and quality of work produced.
- Procurement support for technical requisitions, technical bid evaluations, vendor data review, material and equipment inspections, etc.
- Man-hour estimations for tenders.
- Occasional site visits and surveys.
- Resolve design conflicts.
- Assistance with tender packages including BOQ, tender documents, scope of work, etc.

JOB SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (as a minimum).
MINIMUM WORKING EXPERIENCE:
- Overall: [12] yrs.
- Oil & Gas (Upstream): [8] yrs.
- Middle East: [3] yrs. (Preference)
- Similar Position: [3] yrs.
OTHER HARD SKILL REQUIREMENT (TECHNICAL AND EDUCATION):
- Conversant with international/industry codes and standards.
- Past experience in developing piping design for FEED and EPC projects in oil and gas industries.
- Past exposure to construction, operation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of oil and gas facilities.
- Conversant with applicable computer software packages such as CAESAR II, Autopipe & Autocad.
SOFT SKILLS (BEHAVIORAL):
- Good reporting and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills for working in a multi-discipline/cultural environment.
