Senior Piping Engineer
Job Description
Size of Job:
Job Purpose and Scope: Develop piping design and engineering packages throughout different phases of projects and assist in supervising and coordinating the piping workload in the department.
Job Dimensions:
- Key role in developing piping engineering deliverables
- Participate in multidiscipline engineering tasks
- Provide guidance to piping engineers and designers
- Perform work with minimum supervision
- Assist in planning and managing piping engineering workload
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to a team of engineers and designers for conceptual and detailed design.
- Review documents, calculations, reports, studies, specifications, datasheets, and drawings.
- Develop and review drawings, including plot plans, general arrangements, isometrics, etc.
- Develop and review piping material specifications.
- Assist in monitoring project man-hours and productivity.
- Procurement support for technical requisitions, bid evaluations, vendor data review, etc.
- Occasional site visits and surveys.
- Resolve design conflicts.
- Participate in safety and design review meetings.
- Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams.
- Coordinate with other disciplines.
- Participate in mentoring and training of younger engineers.
- Review contract/tender documents and identify project requirements.

Job Specification:
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (as a minimum)
Minimum Working Experience:
- Overall: [12] Yrs.
- Oil & Gas (Upstream): [8] Yrs.
- Middle East: [3] Yrs. (Preference)
- Similar Position: [3] Yrs.
Other Hard Skill Requirements (Technical and Education):
- Conversant with international/industry codes and standards
- Past experience in developing piping design for FEED and EPC projects in oil and gas industries
- Exposure to construction, operation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of oil and gas facilities
- Conversant with applicable software packages such as CAESAR II, Autopipe & Autocad
Soft Skills (Behavioral):
- Good reporting and communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills for working in a multi-discipline/cultural environment
